John Henry Lewis Family

There was a family reunion mid 1930's at John Henry's home on Main Street, Acworth. These photos of the family were probably taken at this reunion.

John Henry Lewis in hat, boy with football, Edd Lewis Childers,
grandson of Martha 'Mattie' Ellington Lewis from her first
marriage. Other children unknown.

John Henry Lewis


John Henry Lewis was the son of John Lewis and Rebecca Beard
Draper. Was Rebecca's second marriage. John Henry, their
oldest, was married 5 times.


First wife Sarah C 'Sallie' Day. She and baby died in
childbirth 1879.


Second wife was Martha A Hadaway, dau of Richard and Susan
Hadaway. She was the mother of Eli, Vinnie, Ida and Lillous
Martha died 1898


Third wife was Georgia Clayton. She was the mother of Winston,
Walter, Thelma. Ruth and twins Hattie and Mattie died before
reaching age 1. Georgia died 1915.


Fourth wife Annie Lou, no children and she died 1928.


Fifth wife Pearl in the pictures outlived John Henry and I have
no clue what happened to her.
