Sam was born October 13, 1904 in Whitfield County, GA, and died May 26, 1972 in Gainesville, Hall Co., GA.  He moved from Whitfield County, GA to Chattanooga, TN and then to Atlanta, GA.  The family moved to Gainesville, GA in 1954 where he lived the rest of his life.  He was the manager of Atlanta-Asheville Freight Lines until his retirement in 1970 and was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church.  He's buried at Hill Crest Cemetery, East Point, Fulton Co., GA.  He was the son of Elijah Jeffers Holland and Janie Dove of Dalton, Whitfield County, GA.
