Trimble County was formed in 1836 from Henry, Oldham, & Gallatin
Counties. It is located in the Bluegrass region and was named for Judge
Robert Trimble. Milton, Kentucky has the distinction of being one of the
oldest towns in the Commonwealth. It was established by the law of
Virginia in 1789, three years before Kentucky became a state. Bedford is
the County seat and was first settled about 1805 and chartered by
Kentucky in 1816.
