The information contained in the 1886-1997 probate files was provided with the cooperation of the Acadia Parish Clerk of Court and Richard Arnaud. The data was converted and submitted to the archives by A. P. "Red" Quebodeaux .

Probate files, arranged by last name of subject individual, will provide the researcher the necessary document number for researching source documents on events, such as: succession of property to heirs; adoption, tutorship, and emancipation of minor children; and curatorship.

Acadia Parish probate court records are maintained by the Acadia Parish Clerk of Court, P.O. Box 922, Crowley, LA 70527-0922. Phone (337) 788-8881. When I last inquired, they were charging $1.00 per page for reproduction.
