Amite News Digest - Photos
By: Leo Lanier and Robert Vernon
Copyrighted by Leo Lanier, former editor of the News Digest
These photos and others are in the process of being digitized from the original negatives. These images will be placed on CD's and housed at the Amite Museum. The CD's will supply a historical record and give the museum the opportunity to have the pictures identified. They will not be selling the CD's but the CD's will be made available simply for historical and genealogical purposes at the museum. However, if someone wishes to have a high resolution copy made, for their own use, then they should contact Robert Vernon, at vernonrd@cox.net. Please also
contact Robert if you can identify any of the people in the photos if they
aren't identified. In either case, please include the negative #, which is either
on the photo or included in the text below.
Get Involved! We are looking for people to donate transcriptions of cemeteries, deeds, censuses, Bible
records, etc. If you have a Tangipahoa Parish file you'd like to donate to help other genealogist and the Tangipahoa Parish USGenWeb Project, please contact Sandra McLellan.
Here's an easy way to get involved: join the Obituary Daily Times effort and start indexing the obituaries in your
local newspaper. It only takes a few minutes a day and it can help so many people.
