These negatives are from what is left from the files of Louis Fajoni. He was a photographer around the Amite area starting in the 1920s. Fajoni's career extended into the 1970s, but the negatives from the mid 1920s until mid 1940s are the only ones known to still exist from over 50 years of his work. Most of the negatives are glass and due to environmental factors they are not in good condition. Most, if not all of the pictures from the Fajoni file are pre 1940 and many remain unidentified.
Fajoni took mainly people pictures and most of his surviving work is from the Amite, Independence and Kentwood areas. There are negatives taken in Franklinton, Hammond, Ponchatoula and other places. Most of his work has been destroyed but the pictures that will be displayed are from some of what remains.
