Above: Broken tombstones, and many marked with rocks (white "spots" are graves). A sign in the photo above right, states that the Laurel Heights Baptist Church oversees this cemetery, and ask for donations.
Below: Old and new tombstones, metal funeral home markers, rocks and in some cases, nothing at all, mark the graves in this lonely cemetery. Notice how badly stained many of the tombstones are, making them almost unreadable.

I wonder how long these Machen graves have been there? Some have no dates!
Two of the oldest "marked" tombstones in the cemetery are shown below (After cleaning enough to be readable) Notice how darkly stained the sides still are!
