Information on Beltrami County:

Beltrami County was formed in 1866, which was later reduced to its present size. In 1897, the present county boundaries were set. Beltrami County is the fourth largest county in Minnesota covering about 3,040 square miles with a land area of 1,608,519 acres. There are 72 lakes in the county of 150 acres or more, the total water area being 344,320 acres.
