Information on Carlton County:

First created in 1857. County Seat is Carlton. Cities, towns and communities include: Barnum, Carlton, Cloquet, Corona, Cromwell, Esko, Holyoke, Moose Lake, Nemadji, Sawyer and Wrenshall. Carlton County is located in eastern Minnesota, with the state of Wisconsin at it's eastern boundary. Neighboring Minnesota counties include: St. Louis county to the north; Pine county to the south; and Aitkin county to the west. The Wisconsin county of Douglas lies to the east.
