Laura Ings


Laura Margaret Ings, 96, of Lodi, died Aug. 8 in Lodi following a brief 
illness. She was born March 8, 1908, in Bowdon, N.D.

Mrs. Ings moved to Lodi with her family in 1913, where she attended Bruella and 
Live Oak Elementary Schools and Lodi Academy. She later moved to Glendale, 
where she was employed by White Memorial Hospital.

 
Laura Ings

On a visit to Canada, she met her husband, William Francis "Frank" Ings, and 
they were married in 1930. She resided in Canada with her family until they 
returned to Lodi in 1945.

She and her husband were employed by Werner Manufacturing, where she assembled 
locks for filing cabinets. In 1953, they established Ings Lunch Service, Inc., 
a mobile industrial catering company, where she worked until the age of 92. She 
was a member of English Oaks Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lodi.

She is survived by her son, Russell Ings, of Lodi; sisters, Almay Dirksen and 
Jeannette Ogle; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ings in 1973; and daughter, 
Earla Banken.

A private inurnment will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi. There will 
be no visitation.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
