Beatrice Garibaldi


Beatrice Eloise Garibaldi, 94, of Shingletown and formerly of Lodi, died Sept. 
15 in her home. She was born Jan. 7, 1910, in Lodi.

Ms. Garibaldi attended the School of Fine Arts in San Francisco and graduated 
from U.C. Berkeley. She was employed by the City of Lodi as the city clerk for 
11 years. After her retirement, she resumed her art studies with Mr. Richard 
Yip concentrating on watercolors. She also volunteered as a religion teacher at 
St. Anne's in Lodi. She was known as the "reading grandmother" in Lodi schools.

She is survived by her daughter, Beatrice Nevins, of Shingletown; brother, 
Clarence Soucie, of Napa; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at Mary, Queen of Peace Church in Shingletown.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice, 1544 Market St., Redding, 
CA 96001.

Lawncrest Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
