Nyla I. Macho Feb. 12, 1920 — April 23, 2004 There will be no services for Nyla I. Macho, 84, who died Friday at her home in San Joaquin River Club. Born in Oshkosh, Wis., Mrs. Macho moved to California in 1939 with her husband. She was a shipyard worker in San Francisco briefly during World War II, and she helped operate a Millbrae nursery founded by her husband, the late Joe A. Macho, and a brother-in-law, Tom Peddycoart. Mrs. Macho and her husband moved to San Mateo in the early 1950s and founded California Landscaping; they moved to the San Joaquin River Club, near Tracy, after retiring in 1978. The couple traveled throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Mrs. Macho enjoyed fishing, gardening, and her friends and family, and was well known for her cookies. Mrs. Macho is survived by three children, Joseph A. Macho Jr. of Millbrae, Richard Macho of San Carlos and Judy Macho Barnett of Susanville; three daughters-in-law, Martha Macho of Millbrae, Sandra Macho of San Carlos and Jeanne Macho of Sonora; a son-in-law, Jim Barnett of Susanville; three siblings, Ferne Langlitz and Eugene Wilson, both of Oshkosh, Wis., and Wesley Wilson of Iowa; four grandchildren, Jennifer Outzen, and her husband, Randy, of Folsom, Chad Macho of Sacramento, Stephanie Macho of La Honda, and Cheryl Tenaye Macho of Hawaii; two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Michaela Outzen, both of Folsom; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe A. Macho. Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., is handling arrangements.
