Private Cemetery of the Trested Family

Abandoned in a hay field far behind the Gale Hotchkiss farm buildings.  Take Rt 957 out of Sugar Grove to Stillson Road, and turn right on Swede Road to the Gale Hotchkiss farm.  The cemetery is quite a ways behind the buildings in the hayfield

I was asked to try and find this burial site.  My daughter and I went there, and along the edge of the hayfield we found a large round stone that marked the area.  We used our divining rods and found 10 females and 7 males.  The Hotchkiss deed showed that a 1/4 acre lot was reserved for a cemetery.  I went to the courthouse and searched back through the deeds and found that Richard and Margaret Trested had reserved a plot for a cemetery, their deed was dated 1866.  All I have to show for this cemetery is the hayfield.  No physical monuments remain.
