COL. GEORGE A. PHILBROOK, Commissary General, was born in Augusta, September 6, 1848, and has always resided in that city. He was educated in the public schools. He has been connected in business since 1870 with Wilson, Larrabee & Co., one of the largest dry goods houses in the country. Col. Philbrook was a member of Gov. Bodwell's staff, and is widely known for his genial and business qualities, which have won for him hosts of friends. He is a member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts. |
