On private property southeast of
Illinois Bend
Born in Livingston
County, Missouri on March 20, 1849
The granite tombstone (store bought, according to the locals)
was brought from Austin TX. on a freight wagon that was pulled by a large
team of dray horses. Though unkempt, it's existence still honors the
Missourian and the 13 settlers who were massacred in an Indian Raid.
